Description
Gepard Garn's Woolia is a very special wool that comes from an ancient breed of sheep of Italian origin, the Merino Gentile Puglia . These sheep live among fruit trees and olive trees in large organic Italian plantations, in the Puglia region, the original habitat of this breed of sheep.
Woolia wool is spun from the wool of Merino Gentile Puglia lambs and sheep , by the breeders themselves, who sell it directly to the Gepard Garn spinning mill. This ensures sustainable wool production that is also environmentally friendly and offers the best living conditions for both sheep and breeders.
Woolia is a very soft wool that offers about 30% more meters than other yarns of the same thickness. This will allow a sweater to be lighter despite a jacquard or cable construction, which can be heavy. One of the characteristics of this merino is that it is a little dry to the touch, which does not affect its great softness but on the contrary gives it an almost rustic appearance.
Combined with our Kid Seta from Gepard Garn , Woolia can be knitted on 5-6 mm needles.
