Kumulus Top - PetiteKnit
Share
The Kumulus Top from PetiteKnit is a summer basic that you absolutely must have in your wardrobe for sunny days.
A V-neck but not too plunging so you can wear it in all circumstances, a straight and flexible fall, allowing you to tuck the front into your shorts or jeans to be at the cutting edge of fashion .
Like most PetiteKnit patterns, the construction is simple and the pattern is fluid . The top begins with 4 triangles worked back and forth, then the triangles are gathered to continue knitting the body of the top in the round. The i-cord finish is very well explained and is achieved by picking up stitches along the edges of the top.
Knitted entirely in stockinette stitch (apart from the i-cords for the upper edges), this is a top that comes up very quickly and can be worn very quickly! We knitted it with Erika Knight's Studio Linen , which gave a wonderfully soft result, and a little thicker than what you would get with Sandnes Garn's Tynn Line .
Please note! If you want to make this in Erika Knight's Studio Linen, you'll need a higher weight than the designer suggests in the other recommendations. For example, for size M we needed 6 skeins.
Always make your own swatch to see (among other things) if you like the fabric with the recommended needles. For our version in Erika Knight's Studio Linen , we went up to 0.5 mm needles which allowed for a slightly looser top.
